Question: Do I need to shave prior to may laser hair removal appointment? I’m going for my first hair laser removal treatment (brazilian) next week. And I was asked to shave 2 days prior. Well that’s what I’ve read on the Tria hair removal reviews as well. Has anyone else who has had this done been asked to shave prior? What was your experience like? Did shaving prior to treatments make matters worse for you or did the laser removal work and now you have no problems? Also, what exactly happens after the first, second or even the third treatment? Will you have less hair permanently after the first few sessions? Or none will be permanently destroyed unless applied 6-8 times?
Answer: Laser hair removal will help lessen ingrown hair, only if the ingrown hair is dark and not blonde. You must be consistent with the treatment and have it done every 6-7 weeks for at least 5 treatments. I have had laser hair removal on both legs and I always had to shave prior to the treatment.
I didn’t shave the first time I had it done so they had to do it. And it felt awkward. So it would be best if you do it yourself as you know you can shave better than them. Anyway, the people at the salon don’t really shave the area that well so why not do it yourself.
Actually, the treatment destroys all follicles in the growth stage during treatment. What the laser will target during your second session are not the follicles which have already beedn sdestroyed previously. But those that are beginning to grow. Indeed, laser treatment is one of the best hair removal products in the market today.
But some hair will grow back even after you finish your treatment cycle. You’ll need to go in a few times a year to get “touched up” then.
